Welcome to the Omicron Group Project, the official cyber page companion to the SOCI 4999 travel and study in five European nations course-for-credit offered by the Department of Social Sciences in cooperation with the Center for International Programs and Activities (CIPA).

This course, taught by SSU professor Stylianos Hadjiyannis, Ph.D., aims to expose SSU students to the culture, history, and artistic expressions of five European nations (Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, and Germany; expand their horizons through travel; and enable them to think globally.  

T R I P   C O S T
The more participants the lower the cost. I hope the total price for the air fare and the land package will not be more than $1800.

The air and land package nonetheless includes:

  • Hotels: 9 nights accommodation in youth hostels and/or one or two star hotels as follows: 4 nights in Amsterdam, 2 nights in Brussels, 1 night in Luxembourg, and 2 nights in Heidelberg.
  • Meals: Continental breakfast or breakfast buffet daily
  • Transportation: Private, deluxe motor coach beginning with departure from Amsterdam's Schiphol airport until arrival back at Amsterdam airport
  • Day Trips: As listed in the itinerary
  • Hotel taxes and service charges
  • Airfare: Cincinnati to Amsterdam and back

  • Please consult with your advisor on how this course would apply to your degree requirements. 

  • Students should also consult right away with the Office of Financial Aid in case financial help could be available. 

  • A CIPA grant of $2000 to be equally shared among all enrolled students to defray part of the cost is available. 

  • Reservations need to be made early and are now being accepted. Space is limited.  Non-students are also welcomed depending on space availability.
