Welcome to the Omicron Group Project, the official cyber page companion to the SOCI 499X travel and study in Ireland course-for- credit offered by the Department of Social Sciences in cooperation with the Center for International Programs and Activities (CIPA).

This course, taught by SSU professor Stylianos Hadjiyannis, Ph.D., aims to expose SSU students to Ireland's culture, history, and artistic expressions; expand their horizons through travel; and enable them to think globally.

Price:  (The price includes airfare and the land package. The airfare used to calculate the total cost is based on purchasing the ticket at early January 2007 prices. The airfare is subject to change by the time, during the next couple of months, that we actually purchase the tickets. As such, the overall cost below is subject to change. However, the expectation is that any cost change would be very small).

For 30 or more participants $1,855 per person based on double occupancy.

For less than 30 participants $1,955 per person based on double occupancy

These prices include:

* R/T airfare Cincinnati to Dublin and Shannon to Cincinnati on US Airways.
* Airport/hotel/airport transfers in Dublin and Shannon.
* 9 nights at good tourist-class standard hotels in Ireland.
* Breakfast daily
* 7-day tour with our own Coach / Driver / Guide as described in the itinerary.
* All taxes.

The quotes does not include any meals.

Please consult with your advisor on how this course would apply to your degree requirements.

Students should also consult with the Office of Financial Aid in case financial help could be available.

A CIPA grant of $1500 to be equally shared among all enrolled students to defray part of the cost is available. In the event that there are less than 10 students then no student will receive more than $150 from this grant.

Reservations need to be made early and are now being accepted. Space is limited.  Non-students are also welcomed depending on space availability.

All travel arrangements to Ireland were made in cooperation with Authentic Ireland Travel agency based in Ireland.
