Welcome to the Omicron Group Project, the official cyber page companion to the SOCI 4999 travel and study in four European nations course-for- credit offered by the Department of Social Sciences in cooperation with the Center for International Programs and Activities (CIPA).

This course, taught by SSU professor Stylianos Hadjiyannis, Ph.D., aims to expose SSU students to the culture, history, and artistic expressions of four European nations (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and Austria; expand their horizons through travel; and enable them to think globally.  

T R I P   C O S T
I hope the total price (air fare and land package) will not be more than $1800.

The air and land package nonetheless includes:

  • Hotels: 9 nights accommodation in one or two star student accommodation (3 nights in Prague, 2 nights in Bratislava, 2 nights in Budapest, and 2 nights in Vienna)
  • Meals: Continental breakfast or breakfast buffet daily
  • Transportation: Private, deluxe motor coach beginning with departure from Prague's airport upon arrival to the Czech Republic and until we return to the airport for our trip back to the US.
  • Day Trips: As listed in the itinerary
  • Hotel taxes and service charges
  • Airfare: Cincinnati to Prague and back.

Please note: All participants must purchase travel insurance, which includes medical insurance plus a lot more. Visit this site for complete information. The premium for the duration of our trip presently costs $70.

  • Please consult with your advisor on how this course would apply to your degree requirements. 

  • Students should also consult right away with the Office of Financial Aid in case financial help could be available. 

  • A CIPA grant of $2000 to be equally shared among all enrolled students to defray part of the cost is available. 

  • Reservations need to be made early and are now being accepted. Space is limited.  Non-students are also welcomed depending on space availability.
